Inktober 2017 wrap…hello November

“Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.” –John Steinbeck

I am familiar with the art rabbits, get them all the time when staring at a blank piece of watercolor paper.  But I see that my resident dust bunnies have expanded the tribe a bit to now include plot bunnies.  This can only mean one thing, November has arrived and Nanowrimo is on.

But before I can get started on chasing 50,000 words to write while avoiding roving bands of plot bunnies, am taking a moment to say “thank you Mr. Parker for a fun adventure with Inktober“, and to post the final ink drawings.  This was my first time drawing and posting every day on Instagram, which was a challenge in itself, but in the end I did walk away from the experience with a few personal lessons and insights into my own art.  Aside from the gratification of completing what seemed like a daunting challenge, there was the daily inspiration gained from seeing so many wonderful artists who express themselves and their visions so eloquently with ink.  It was certainly a learning experience and I look forward to continuing the exploration and adventure with ink but without the daily postings…lol.

Wishing everyone a creative November!
